Biomass Intel is published and edited by Mackinnon Lawrence.  Mackinnon is an attorney with a background in international environmental law and policy as well as expertise in renewable energy, smart grid, climate, and sustainability issues.  He is a co-founder and principal consultant at Biomass Advisors, a boutique renewable energy consulting firm helping international clients evaluate, plan, and manage investments in biomass energy projects.  Mackinnon is also a frequent contributor to Biofuels Digest and CleanTechies.

Mackinnon holds a JD from American University’s Washington College of Law, an MA in Global Environmental Policy from American University’s School of International Service, and a BA from Amherst College.  He is a member of the California Bar.
